That is because the body dies for them got sent there after Ford in the USA got done with them; The '60 Falcon in black with a yellow top was THE taxi you looked for in Buenos Aires for years and years.

As late as 1982 they were still sold with updated styling and rectangular head lights..

and even the 1966-1969 Galaxie 500 LTD dies and mildly restyled them, though a LOT less of them were sold.
