In a hurry to get to school. Needed to weld an exhaust hanger in place on my VW GTi, and had no leather protection as a puddle of molten metal dropped into the crook of my arm. It left a pretty nasty burnt patch of flesh.


Torquing a transmission brace in the lower half of a yamaha 600cc engine case. The allen socket broke and fist (with torque wrench protected by my flesh) went right into a razor sharp machined edge of the alloy case. Exposed the bone, went to the ER for stitches.

The burn was far more painful. It hurt for days.

None of the above (or similar) ever happened a second time.
