Hello old friends. I still have my 500E, now with 182K miles and once again the mileage is growing fast. It's on to the next round of Check Engine lights and error codes. I started researching this morning and found my old thread from 2002, and this one here. I'm counting blinking lights and getting repeated number 5 codes. I'll try Neil's solution, looking for cracked vacuum hoses. I've been making fast runs from LA to San Francisco most weekends for the last few months. The old girl still has original paint and the heads have never been off, and it's still running strong. Electronics are this car's Achilles' heel for sure. But for that, it's easy to love this car.
