Not sure how one side can not work if it is attached, it's all mechanical. I assume the passenger side doesn't move? The motor drives the drivers side and the passengers side is just mechanically linked to the left side. If one side works it is the drivers sise as that's what the motor drives. Then the link makes the right side work, but the link usually has come off. dID YOU CHECK TO SEE IF THE NUTS THAT HOLD THE ARMS DOWN ARE BOTH TIGHT? (sorry the cap lock stuck)
Have to remove the whole wiper assembly, then transfer the old motor to the new linkage and reinstall. A bunch of stuff at the base of the windshiled, all that air intake stuff, has to come off and not sure but the heater blower motor might be coming off, too.
