It isn't...in fact I don't think its even possible. Much easier just to loosen the thermostat mounting bolts. I did it the reverse way, putting it on the water pump housing and wiggling it in there just right with the tstat still mounted...it did take a while to get right though. Phil only sells the hose in 3 foot sections--I would offer to cut a piece off and send at the price of shipping but the remaining hose is at my folks' house so no can do ...I'm sure someone has excess if you ask around here.
