I have freebie versions of "Superantispyware" and a free registry cleaner "Eusing Free Register Cleaner". They come up with stuff all the time, but I think something is dodging them. Did the disc cleanup utility and defrag, so I am trying. Did a "dskchk", found a few things it didn't like, but still have problems. Not bad at the moment.
Usual "sheep" equipment, Dell with Windows XP Media Edition. Hoping someone has a few good ideas for me. Take it easy on me, I know just enough to get in trouble.
Sometimes even outlook express doesn't want to connect to my server, get "POP3" errors and that sort of thing. At times almost bad enough to consider reformatting the disc, but that's pretty drastic.

Download and run ATF CLEANER from
http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1

Get rid of superanti whatever. Ditch the registry cleaner(most of them are kaka)

Install, update and run Spybot Searh & destroy from this site:
http://fileforum.betanews.com/download/Spybot-Search-Destroy/1043809773/1

Use a decent antivirus, NOT Norton, Panda, McAffee, PC-Cillin, but something like http://www.eset.com/download/free-trial/smart-security

The above mentioned tools kick butt. I use them daily in my computer repair biz.

And don't use Internet Exploder, as the previous post recommended. ONLY use it for getting Windoze updates. If you are going to format your drive then ditch Windoze altogether and download and install Ubuntu(free Linux operating system and you'll have no issues with viruses, spyware or greedy software monopolies either)
