I was going to buy a bar from a freind of mine, he talked me out of it. The headaches are huge and the returns few. He made a lot more running a limo service out of the bar, the booze was cheaper and a lot of parties started and returned to his bar. He specialized in bar crawls and bachelor/bachlorette parties. he also kept relatives behind the bar, nieces and nephews, brothers etc. BTW, it would be risky enough by yourself, but the quickest way to lose a freind is to go in business with them.
