Those are the instructions when I did mine in my gravel driveway a few years back. Pre soak all the bolts with PB Blaster or some such item daily for a few days prior to doing the work. The threaded rod/washer system will do the job. Doing the bushings makes a huge difference in the car- the driver is steering, not the back end.
