I always thought playing games is just that...playing games!
So even the "dressing-down" tactic is just another flavor of "game-playing"...even if it's a fact-finding mission.
I will admit to not having much dating success in my bachelor days, and I fell into the trap of believing that a guy had to have a sharp car in order to get a woman's attention. Problem is, I owned my share of junkers as a struggling college student, and later, as a money-challenged white collar flunkie.
Eventually things got better (bought my first new car at age 30), but by the time I met my future wife, she didn't care squat about what car I owned!
We've acquired our MBs well into our marriage, so it's a moot point anyway. My wife is still not a car afficiando, but she does love her SL!
