Mvk,I replaced the complete door handle and lock with one I acquired from a breakers yard for 25 quid,that's approximately $40 US.This isn't much help to you over there.The reason I posted is to warn you to be gentle when taking the handle assembly apart.There is a flat bar approx 2-3" long joining the barrel to the lock mechanism,which snaps quite easily if you try to wrench the door handle off.Guess how I know this
You need to jiggle it out gently.The handles on my 82 300D are interchangeable from left and right, so if you bollocks the first one up you can always use the one from the other door of your Donor car.Hope this helps some and and I didn't lose to much in the translation
