III) I would suggest you establish guidelines and install interfacing boundaries in your life that don't seem to exist at this time. Perhaps you are spending too much time with the wrong people, and communicating information in perhaps the wrong venues - so to speak....

All valid points, and ones I have questioned many times and I'm questioning now. to reply just for clarity.
I) A friend started my facebook for me, I didn't use it for a long time, and then some how it replaced my email list as a way to communicate with my fiends and family. I generally only post links on there. more of like a news feed to the odd news storied I read then anything else.
II) I've always been a very open person, willing to help anyone. If you lived near me and needed
help on your car, and we were friends I wouldn't give a second thought to letting you park it in my driveway. Problem with this friend is that he was not working on the truck, he would only work on the truck enough to get me involved, then I was working on it for him... and thats not what we agreed to. suppose the key word is
help, I have no problem lending assistance, tools, and a place to do the work. but in the end its your responsibility to get the job done. my "friend" has a problem with responsibility, and that leads us to your third point
III) I try and pick good people as friends, and I've been lucky to have some really great friends (Jim B knows some of them

) but at this point in my life its time to prune the friendship tree.
