..... we went and got another one

.
But there is a good reason!
Ed's shoulda-been-dead-years-ago automotive cockroach, a HORRIBLY abused 88 Corolla, got to the point where he couldn't go more than 3 miles without having to stop, let it cool down, and re-fill the radiator. Pretty dang limiting.
None of the 5 cars in our mini-fleet made sense to hand over to him (3 are miata's - ain't no way an Ed is gonna be comfy in a miata, and the other two are not currently in a 'gas it up and go anywhere' state).
So - me, Darling Wife, and her Twin Brother went back to the well and pooled enough fundage to get Ed some reliable wheels.
A screaming red 1990 300D 2.5. W124 chassis (same as Gretel, our 91 wagon), OM602 engine with 2.5 liters of turbo-charged clackity clack power. Owned the past six years by the brother of a guy Ed has known forever and considers to be 'the best mechanic in Baltimore.'
Pickin' er up this afternoon. Hoping the added freedom/range provided by the new ride will build on the little sparks of interest in life we've been seeing in Ed these past few days.....
