My new to me 85 300SD has very "heavy" steering. I flushed the PS fluid and changed the filter but it made no difference. At a standstill it will turn left barely and right is almost impossible. Same while driving- left turns are easier than right. I took the steering stabilizer shock off with no improvement. Is this a pump or steering box issue or could it be alignment problem? I have not had an alignment done yet and the left front tire had wear to the cords on the inside. Is there any adjustment for the amount of power assist from the PS pump? In searching I have not found any mention of an adjustment, but those MB engineers never cease to amaze me and maybe there is an easy fix!!! (I'm an eternal optimist). Any thoughts on this? -Scott
