Put your mind to it and...well...no pun... “The sky’s the limit.” You’ll get one.

Ours was actually a demo. Though not new, buying used did have its plus side in that all the kinks had been previously worked out by the folks far more in the know than I. And a savings of over two grand off new.

The big issue with it is the set-up and take-down times. We usually set it up on a movable helipad. But even then we have to cover it and we don’t like it set up for too long in the hangar anyway.

Darby wants a more “eternal home” for it, so we looked into an ExploraDome to mount on the pad. Problem there is the room. Not much of it at 8’ once you put a table and such for charts, the computer, accessories, eyepiece box, etc. So now we’re looking into the SkyShed Pod with two "pod bays", one on each end (180 out). Not sure how or when anything there will turn out. That's kinda on hold.

Are you into any clubs out there?
Nothing wrong with looking through other folks rigs.

They had a club down north of Ft. Worth that was one of our favorites. Everything from binoculars to some major tubes. The two things everyone had in common were the love to look up, and the love to drink while doing so. Some nights, it was a wonder how anyone could focus at all. We almost always had a wine tasting in conjunction with star gazing. Awesome late night combo! I guess it was a nice way for the “social wives” to spend more time with their “geek husbands”. Great times had by all.
We miss that group.

Darby took the kids down to San Antonio for the weekend... So I'm solo...
Looks like any gazing tonight will be in the office here on Imaginova’s Starry Night Enthusiast. Weather here stinks...
