I have (3) M104 engined cars:
1988 360TE AMG (1995 C36 M104)
1995 E320 wagon (W124 M104 HFM)
1995 E320 wagon (W124 M104 HFM)
The C36 M104 with it's aggressive cams sounds like a diesel at idle . . .
The exhaust manifolds for the 1995 C36 M104 and 1995 W124 E320's all look like cast iron with a stainless-steel insulating shroud.
