According to the EPC
Your 88-300E has a 722.320 or 723.358
A 84-300TD has a 722.303 or 722.315 or 722.416
So part number wise they are not the same. I'm not even sure if they'd mate up successfully as I believe the m103 and om617 have different locations for the starter motor? I might be wrong. I know m103 starter is on the drivers side..I think om617 is on passenger...
