I moved up to a W116 from a W114 about 4 years ago and do like the car. Mine has a blue velour interior which is unusual for the US market but could be had on special order. If the 350SE is a true euro car, it won't have the dreaded ACCII climate control and that is a major bonus.

I don't know enough about the 350 engine to offer any help but you could check out the w116.org forum. Most of the guys are overseas to us and would have a better perspective on the 350SE.
