Gear moves back and fourth. Plastic gets hot gear moves away. Cools off comes back sometimes. The shaft isnt perfect. Had 1 on a chevy 1 time it only counted 1 out of every 100 driven even tho the speedo worked flawlessly.

I have seen other posts that it doesnt take much movement of the gear to stop it from working.
