Nearly every leak I have seen on a M103 was the front cover seal.

I don't think the head gaskets failed in these to the extent of the M104's - I'm sure someone will confirm.

The only major issues I have ever had with a M103 were, well none really. Except for the odd oil drip.

The later M104 on the other hand - don't get me started.
