Another treatment that buddy of mine went through: they insert a device that is much like the 4 prong pick up tool we all use in the garage to retrieve tools we drop in unreachable places, up though the plumbing until they reach the stone. Extend the four little fingers and grasp the stone. They they hold the exit point with one hand and pull like heck on the tool until it and the stone exit the body where it should have come out on its own. Doesn't that sound like fun? And since we guys have a few more turns and valves in the plumbing, it is extra fun for us. I was ready to cry just from buddy describing what he went through.
Dad had a stone one time. I remember him pouring a nice big glass of straight whiskey and downing it before going to see the doctor for the stone. Afterwards, he warned me I should drinks lots of liquids, especially water. I still do 40 years later.
