Do you guys run something like Prime95 on your systems to test stability?
I downloaded the equivalent for Linux, mprime, and it's pretty cool. Maybe I should say pretty hot, because it pushes my CPU temperature to 86C. No errors reported at that temperature, but I only ran it for a few hours. Baseline temperature is under 40C (<20% usage on any core).
I was worried about my memory, since it is not ECC. It's hard to find non-server boards that support ECC these days; used to be easy. I might have to get a server board, but then I'd be very, very tempted to fill both sockets. Don't know what I'd do with 16 logical processors, but I'm sure that I would figure something out.
