That rust reminds me of the rear window seal that can dry out and leak and cause rust inside the trunk.
Pull back the flexible panels covering the inside of the trunk by the rear wheel wells...
Cheapest fix is a flowable silicone like "crack cure"
A lot of glass shops won't touch the laminated rear window.
