Yeah it uses a seal between the head of the bolt and the fitting, but after looking at the pump last night it looks like the sealing surface around the threaded hole might be made out of copper or some soft material, so maybe that side doesn't use a washer. I'm going to put it back together that way and see what happens. Thanks for the reply
