The 1984 190E 2.3 uses a different oil filter & housing than the 1985 & later cars. If you have a 1985 & later it is very easy to adapr an oil cooler. USE a sandwich style oil filter adaptor from a VW that used the same style filter.

Mount the oil cooler in front of the radiator.
