The original stereo in my 95 E300D is pretty cool, and I certainly haven't tossed it. I was fine with it, but my wife wanted to kick it up a notch.

I think my her motivation (apart from her love for me, and her love of gadgetry) is the 18 hours we spent driving to New Orleans and back without our own music programming. I use a cassette adapter for my MP3 player in the car, but the cassette player only plays the right channel. My car did not have the CD player in the trunk, either. That was a lot of station hunting.
