Just can't agree with you on that one. Maybe you think they are dumb, and maybe you think that it is solely the kids responsibility not to get run over, but I believe you are in the minority. Most of the people who dislike speed bumps are the folks who lower their cars to ridiculous levels, leave late for work every day, have no regard for anything outside of their own vehicle, and in general are most likely the people the rest of us refer to as "that moron I saw while driving...." If it weren't for the extremely violent speed bumps/depressions that were installed in the canyon road which passes through my little Colorado mountain town, the idiots would drive 60 through town (speed limit is 25). All it takes is forgetting once about those bumps, and you will most likely never forget again. I do think that speed bumps are overused in parking lots and such, but again, they are a nuisance to everyone because of the few who drive with such disdain for others, that they become necessary.
