I believe on later models they had an air temp sensor. Maybe someone swapped in the wrong one by accident in the past?

You don't want any hot air going into that intake, so sounds like a win although like you said, in reality wouldn't have made any difference at all by the sounds of it. Hot air = less combustion...Hence why people put on 'cold air intakes'. We have one from stock...so all good
