I had the bolt on my 85 break. This is what I tried to do to close it.

What you need to do is attempt to remove the headliner that is attached to the sun roof. With it partially closed it is going to be a pain.

The front of the headliner pulls down and there are clips holding it up. See if you can pull downward to remove it. I can almost guarantee you are going to damage the headliner from bending it to remove it.

If you can open the roof halfway, it will make removing the headliner a lot easier.

Once you have it open, there is a long pipe with a clip in it. Remove the clip and pull the sunroof closed. You will have to pull on the long metal latch to "seal" the sunroof upward.

I would consider converting to a manual sunroof.
