I was under the impression that if there was if the defcon level went up jets were scambled as a precaution. Is this not true?

Cruise missiles yes but I don't think NK has any. ICBMs cannot be intercepted by fighter planes.
Overall it does sound like a bit of saber rattling (I guess Kim Jung Ill is pissed that he hasn't been on CNN much since Obama took over
) Then again he it quite crazy and it only takes one spark to set a powder keg off.
