The fuse-box connections for the A/C and power windows often corrode--you may have to unscrew the Phillips-head screws mounting the wires to the boxes and thoroughly wire-brush everything down to bare metal to get a good connection.

I've been known to rewire all that firewall stuff into two or three heavy-duty glass fuse in-line holders good for 35 amps apiece--which has proved to be a permanent fix.
