Can somebody give me the good points and bad about a 500SL?

I have access to a crashed car and the motor would fit nicely into an older car I have. The next question is "should I?"

The fan, distributor cap and what looks like a cruise control solenoid at the top of the motor got hurt in the impact. The car wasn't running at the time, so no worries about catastrophic loss of coolant.
