Ok, so the new seal is in place on the IP and I did test vacuum at the trans modulator and the modulator did have a leak. It wasn't a horrible leak but I replaced the modulator anyway. I have yet to measure pressure so I can't say if it's adjusted properly but I'll handle that later.
My concern is now in measuring the vacuum control valve according to the transmission diag manual. It says to measure vacuum at the side of the valve via the 90 degree rubber fitting, which should read around 11"hg for the black capped unit. I would think that measuring appropriate vacuum at the control valve would be to measure at the connection for the transmission.
Needless to say I can easily be wrong about this but to measure vac at the side of the valve seems odd. If I measure vacuum coming to the valve I read about 24"hg, which seems good. I will likely measure vacuum in the trans line tomorrow on a test drive. Part of my questioning the measuring technique is due to not being able to get a good reading off the side port.
If anyone else has any insight let me know.
Thanks
