My parents have a Frigidaire basic dishwasher with electronic controls, they use it multiple times per day and it has yet to give up after 5 years of use....best part, it cost $289 and does a nice job.
My new house came with a fancy Whirlpool unit that is brand new, works well, but we'll see how long it lasts. We only do about 3-4 loads of dishes a week....
