I don't have the details, she did mention that her surgery was a little more advanced the lobbing off a chunk of stomach and was more a rework of the intestines and that this surgery is easier to live with in the future. She can eat normally now.
I agree that it's not entirely a doctor issue here as patients seem to expect to walk out with a prescription in hand and insurance companies expect to see some treatment in the bill before they pay out. That's a much bigger topic which has been covered many times over on this forum. We should not just lay the blame on India as there is obviously more to it then that.
