ok, Yak was good enough to PM me and let me know there probably isn't a compressor relay. As I did some searching of old posts, I read where somebody had thought their compressor was shot, but said that he changed out the compressor relay (I thought), and found out that his compressor was fine and everything was working great. I don't know what I'm looking for, but my ac was sporadically working after I had it flushed and recharged, before I put in the new auto hvac control unit. I had already ordered a new one from auto haus, and I put it in anyway. I'm getting tired of baking in the Missouri heat when I drive this car. Anybody ever heard of a compressor relay? (Or something that controls it that would stop it from working?) It's an 81 300D. Thanks, everybody. Ignorance can be very time consuming.
