I agree with the less weight and more space idea. It equals more safety also.

Even when you are in a well equipped shop if you are working by yourself it is difficult to keep an eye on what is going on inside of you immediate view; even more so while you are working the Engine Hoist.

It is real easy to squash something and give yourself something else to fix. So the less parts there is the less there is to damage.
