It sounds like all you did was pull the IP to fix the oil leak. Please clarify, no other work was done.

You know what I did...........got the alda tore it's guts out and that fixed that... I turn all kinda R's now
Since you last installed the IP, you removed the alda and it responded the way you want it to. Afterwards, it went south again?
