There are many on here who have very strong views on oil level. My own opinion is its not as critical for N/A motors. Overfill a turbo motor & you definitely risk a runaway. I have never had a problem when the oil is on that red plastic bit on the dipstick. I think yours has the same motor as my 250TD. I find that when it gets close to 1/2 way between the high & low marks, the level warning light starts to come on when i go around left corners or brake. Filling it up with oil then tends to make the compensators quieter.
