stats: 1987 260E 2.6L

Hello all. Everytime I turn the key to on position prior to starting the car the SRS light would stays on for a while then goes off. So I just go on my merry way until the next time I get in the car and turn the key to on, same thing every time. Does this means the computer thinks the airbag already deployed? or does it means something else?
