We have a 4+ foot long bale spike (hydraulic. used to pick up 1200lb round hay bales) on the back of our Dodge 2500 4x4.
Any time someone decides to tailgate me, I just hit the switch to lower it and suddenly there’s plenty of space between us.
I’m thinking Randy has probably done the same.
