Hello all. Recently purchased a 71 220d auto column shift. The car runs but needs motor mounts replaced and the calipers rebuilt. Anyway, I started it and put it into reverse just to move it back into a garage. I stopped once to move something out of my way and put it in neutral. When I got back in and tried to shift it back into reverse, it was like that path didn't exist anymore. I'm going to check things out later tonight, but if anyone has any thoughts or experience, It would be greatly appreciated. I did notice that when in reverse the engine didn't shake as badly(motor mounts). I'm hoping it's just the bad mounts or vacuum issue. Totally new to working on these.
