I'd think that Hydrogen should burn in a flashover event as soon as it get's hot enough in the prechamber and then be gone, leaving behind heat, vapor and less O2.

The diesel combustion is a prolonged event because it's either injected over (I think) 30 degrees or so, or squirted into a honeypot (Elsbett, VW, Hypercycle engines) and burns out of it.
