I have one of the el cheapo Dirt Devil bagged "featherlite" vacuums. They cost like $45....but have plenty of suction. Ours has lasted 2.5 years of use so far, its still 100% functional but makes a weird noise when spinning down. When it dies I'll look for either one of the industrial Eureka vacuums, or a modern hoover canister, those are pretty nice.
