If I understand the point you are attempting to make; no-one is going into hiding from "muslims" in general (my muslim friends are not trying to kill anyone), but there are people hiding from individual or groups of criminals who falsely claim to be acting under the authority of a religion.

This is roughly equivalent to claiming that the jewish people who were hiding from the nazis were hiding from the "christians," or that black people hiding from the KKK were hiding from "christians."

I know you are smart enough to understand this distinction. I also think you understand that no amount of noise from anyone is going to radicalize the vast majority of people who practice islam.

If I thought you were an idiot I wouldn't bother talking to you, but you are overstating your case. Your valid point is that there is a small population of muslim people who can be radicalized by an even smaller group with a specific political agenda. I'm sure that you (like most of us) know dozens of muslims, none of whom are about to become terrorists. Your argument loses credibility when you try to generalize it to a billion people.
