There are 4 bolts holding it on at the base. I put them on pretty tight, but not overly so. Even at snug, to tight, it wouldn't make a difference at all. All the bolts do, is prevent the wiper assembly from being too loose. Even if super tight, it would only hold it 1/10,000 of an inch tighter to whatever it attaches to.
