I used to wax my cars. I understand the difference that waxing provides, to some degree.

...but why is automotive paint treated so differently from every other painted surface?

If anything, due to the extreme conditions a car experiences each day, auto paint is made more durable than any other paint.

I am not saying wax doesn't help it stay cleaner or look better longer... but for the longevity of the paint..... there should be no argument.
