I am surprised (unpleasantly) at your comments.
To set the record straight, the US and Australia specifically, not just the commonwealth, have shared bonds of friendship that have been active since after WWI, when we first basically discovered them, and understood how they are different as a people from the Brits and the Canadians.

Australians have a very positive image among Americans, especially former Navy servicemen and women, which accounts for the large number of US+Australian households found in various corners of the world.

Additionally, Australia is part of the ANZUS treaty, obviously, and special government cooperation by the US with Australia is significantly greater than with many other countries.

Plus we all love Crocodile Dundee
