Sooo today I called the dealer and read them all 4 part numbers for the rear covers for the back of the alternator to protect from heat and shorting out the connections. Guess what? NO GO ON ALL FOUR! None of them are available any longer. Just my luck.

Anyone know what model W124 might have had a cover on the rear of the the alternator so I might start looking at salvage yards? I may have to just fabricate a heat shield.
