Replacing the master cylinder is one job I could actually do far away from home in a pinch. All you need is a 50pc tool set (walmart 22$), a mity vac (fluid catching), a new MC, DOT 4, and patience.

NAPA certainly did me wonders when my MC went. The one in my hometown had it same day at no extra cost.
