Hi Ryan,
Yes these plates do fit the spring, with the suspension at full stretch you have to wind the plates to the highest and lowest points on the spring that you can to compress enough of it. These are very long springs. Stating the obvious, but if you're using a threaded bar with them then make sure the material will take the forces involved.
Once the plates and bar are in position use a jack to compress the suspension as much as possible and then tighten the nut to take the strain.
I maybe teaching you how to suck eggs but hate to think someone took my advice at face value and got hurt. I personally hate working on this area of the car.
